New data plan & low EU data rates (Q2_2026)
A core strength of our tags is their reliable connectivity through our global Telekom contract, providing stable roaming partnerships worldwide and a transparent international price structure.
Starting immediately, we are introducing reduced data transmission costs for all new purchases. The most substantial changes apply within the EU, where upload prices will drop drastically.
We hope this change will allow more groups to use e-obs tags to their full potential. Recording regimes no longer need to be constrained primarily by communication costs, enabling projects to operate at higher data rates and to fully leverage the performance of the system.
Data upload within the EU*: 0.15€/MB
Data upload outside the EU*: 4.85€/MB
SMS globally: 0.47€/SMS
Basic fee: 0.19€/day
*Pricing depends on network coverage zones (EU vs. non-EU). Detailed coverage map available on request.

A new dashboard: e-observer (Q2_2026)
The dashboard provides a clear overview of tag status and allows users to monitor multiple tags at the same time. It offers quick access to key system parameters such as battery trends, locations, and upload activity, making it easy to assess the operational state of an entire deployment.
Users can compare individuals directly within the interface, identify differences in tag performance, and quickly detect irregularities. The dashboard combines an overview of all active tags with the ability to move into detailed views of individual units when needed.
At present, the dashboard runs alongside the setup tool used for tag programming and configuration. The system is under active development and will be expanded with additional features over time, further improving monitoring capabilities and providing deeper insights into tag performance and data transmission.

New UHF tag programming and field reconfiguration tool (Q1_2026)
Programming tag settings is a central part of every telemetry study, but it can also become time-consuming when projects evolve and settings need to be adjusted.
In addition to the established “live” programming approach in the office or via Menu-on-Animal, we are introducing a second option that makes preparing and updating tag settings more flexible.
Using the cfg_editor, configuration files can be created on a PC and transferred to an Android device (e.g. a mobile phone). With the e-obs UHF-Setup Tool app, these files can then be distributed to tags in the field via a BaseStation connected to the Android device. Tags within range are detected automatically and updated with the corresponding configuration file.
This makes it easier to adjust tag behavior during ongoing projects and simplifies field workflows, especially when multiple tags need to be updated.
For now, this feature is only available to a limited, selected group of users using specific radio modes. Please get in touch with us for details.
